dear teacher, dear students:
everybody is good!
students, when you walk on the way to clean and tidy, do you think of hard work the cleaners aunt? when you are comfortable sitting in the bus, you will think of busy uncle? when you are in the dining room enjoy delicious, you can think of is the hot in the kitchen cook uncle? they are silently doing contribution for the society. these seemingly insignificant contribution, it is indispensable to us. the topic of my speech today is: learn to be grateful.
gratitude is one of the most simple, the most sincere a kind of emotion, is also a kind of noble values and outlook on life. we should learn to thanksgiving, to thank the people who make a contribution to society, to give people a warm, and give others a happy. can bring happiness to others, is also very great, everyone will be more like you and respect you. pain to others, it is hated by people and hate, no one will be willing to close to him, to make friends with him.
have students will ask: "that we how to thanksgiving others?" actually very simple. , for example, you go to the bakery to buy breakfast, to sell breakfast of uncle aunt say "thank you", a gentle smile, can give others happiness and a sense of accomplishment, and grateful people. for example, walk on the road, eating snacks, the packaging is thrown into the trash can, is a kind of gratitude for housekeepers. it is very easy to do things, but it can bring happiness to others, is a how meaningful thing!
the classmates, thanks to others, from small start. let us act together!

beggars are one of the most familiar groups in every city. they accompany us from our childhood until now, and i've found both the beggars and i change in this journey.
years ago as a little girl, when i came across some old and disabled beggars on the road, i'd donate some pocket money to them, happily thinking i was helping.
s i have grown older, i've found the number of beggars has grown larger and they are more diverse. they appear in every corner of the city, on the overbridge, on the street, near restaurants, and even at your door. in contrast with the old days, it seems like the situation with beggars today is more complicated, which has made me hesitate before deciding whether to help them or not.
it's hard for me to give them money considering some who appear beggars in day time but dress up and go to fancy restaurants at night; and some who are controlled by some illegal organization and the money they get all goes to the organization. if i help them, i'd be making the problem worse, i'd be doing harm to the society, indirectly. but it's also hard not to give them money, considering there're real beggars who really need help. if i don't help them, who will? and where is my sympathy?
what hurts me the most is not how hard it is to distinguish the real help-seekers from the many false ones, but that some children are forced by adults, sometimes even their parents, to beg. they grow up despised by the world, out of mainstream society. when i see their eyes filled with desperation and impudence instead of purity and innocence, my heart sinks. we don't know how they will face the world when they grow up, how this will shape their characters, and what they may do to the society, to perpetuate this cycle of violence.
months ago the fu jian government has promulgated a new policy to deal with 8 kinds of beggars. an internet survey shows that over 80% of voters reacted positively toward the policy. we know that one single policy cannot solve a problem as complex as this one, but we do look forward to some improvement. i wish all humanity can live like human.
ladies and gentlemen, i can say i'm no less nervous than my fellow and he was on the first time coming before this house. i can say ladies and gentlemen, that the problem we are facing before us, the problem that i have to deal with today, is how to define success.
it is often too easy, it is often too simplistic to define success as something external, something objective, something dealing with money, fame or reputation. but what i believe success is that it is not external. it comes from within. it is internal. i believe success is that you have to have your own ideals, and that you have faith in those ideals, even in the face of extreme adversity. and that is my definition of success.
i also believe that success is not discriminatory. success does not attach to a mere particular class of individuals. i believe that each and every individual, regardless of race, gender, class or even economic background, has an equal right to success, because each person has the right to develop his own ideals and to pursue those ideals.
a good example of this is the composer beethoven, a man who all of us know has created great symphonies. this man was deaf. this man was unable to hear his own majestic pieces of work. and yet, he held to his ideal of creation of music to the very end. then what exactly does the definition of success mean to me? to answer this question, to exemplify it, i pose a question to this house. i pose a question what brings us here together today, ladies and gentlemen, students and educators as you like. and the answer that i have found is the love for the spoken word.
love for the spoken word means how it is to express, how it is to listen, how it is to understand. because what happens when you have a pause, what happens when you have a rhetoric speech all differs on the impact and communication that you have on your audience. but the meaning of the spoken word applies ever more strongly to those who are unable to speak, or are unwilling to speak. because all the beautiful thoughts and emotions encapsulated in that person will inevitably be lost, if that person is not able to speak.
i once went to australia in 1998,and i saw two pictures drawn by three-year-old children. one was drawn by a normal child, one was drawn by what is known as an autistic child, a child which is exclusive, which is unable to express himself verbally to other people. and you could see the difference between the pictures. one was a picture of a horse very simple and straightforward. one was a picture of a horse a gain, but you could see the life, you could see the spirit, and you could see the detail behind that picture.
so the point i want to make here is that these people do have emotion they understand a lot, but it is very very fatal that they are not able to express themselves. and my definition of success is to share with them the beauty of the spoken word. my definition of success is to teach and be able to change these people's lives, because i have had the opportunity of encountering these people in my times either at school or during my summer jobs. i have had the time and opportunity to change these people. i have had the time to see exactly what exactly they go d1rough and to understand that point.
my ideal here is to share the beauty of the spoken word to these people. it is fright fatal that these people are not given the opportunity to be understood by the world. i say it because these people are often neglected by the public. i say it because people often think they are awkward and different. but i say we cannot forgive these acts because we must have a proactive approach to teach these people.
i say, ladies and gentlemen, that is important to keep your ideals. i say we should not have a premature abortion of ideals. it is easy to stray; it is easy to be distracted. what i say is let your ideals live on. let the child of your ideals live on, because what i want to leave you with is living you life without an ideal means that your life is not worth living at all. thank you.

john in order to choose the wise after the death of his home, he visited the heaven and hell
he first came to the hell, to see all the people are sitting at the table, the table filled with all kinds of delicious foods. the strange thing is, they are all one in the blues. john emaciation with sallow complexion, a closer look only to find the original table on the left arm people are tied with a fork, right arm tied with a knife, knife the fork and handle up to 4 feet, grasp the knife and fork to eat all the things on the table, so they only watched the food hungry.
john went to heaven, and all the way to find dining equipment with hell. but people here are as like as two peas ruddy, and everywhere is full of laughter. john felt very strange, why they are not afraid of hunger? john quickly found the answer, the original heaven never handle food to feed themselves but, happily to others to eat, so, who can eat delicious food; and hell who only want to feed themselves, so only to starve.
heaven and hell have only one step away, but because of the warmth and love between people, heaven has become a place for laughter, the hell became a place full of complaints and hunger
