中国北京获得2022年第24届冬季奥林匹克运动会主办权
2015年7月31日，在马来西亚吉隆坡举行的国际奥委会第128次全会上，国际奥委会主席巴赫宣布：中国北京获得2022年第24届冬季奥林匹克运动会主办权。北京也创造历史，成为第一个既举办过夏奥会又举办冬奥会的城市。北京申办冬奥成功，再创两项世界纪录，
一是北京成为世界上第一个既举办过夏奥会，又举办冬奥会的城市;

去年年底，国家体育场鸟巢举办完高水平沸雪赛事后，又举办了国际雪联自由式滑雪空中技巧世界杯赛;吸引了近百支队伍参加的北京青少年冰球联赛进行得如火如荼。在冬奥会规划举办大部分雪上项目的崇礼，2014年雪季刚一拉开序幕，就吸引了数百名日本和韩国滑雪队的专业运动员前来训练，这些队员近年来年年都要到这儿开始他们整个赛季前的训练。据崇礼县县长白银海介绍，截至2015年1月3日，全县滑雪总人数39.5万人次、收入2.77亿元，同比增长28.6%、29.1%;全县游客接待总人数为60.76万人次、收入4.26亿元，同比增长27.3%、28.1%。
